A few years ago, I read an article about human trafficking and it made me sick to my stomach. A rush of emotions came over me- anger, sorrow, and pain filled my heart and consumed me and then I felt an urgent need to do something about it. But what? Ideas ran through my head- most of them were either fairly passive (donating money to non-profits that help rescue people) or super aggressive (finding these horrible people and morphing into a Power Ranger to teach them a lesson). I knew there was something else I could be doing, so I continued to think and pray for direction. Years later, I heard about Elegantees-- a clothing line that employs women rescued from trafficking to sew. They restore dignity to these women and help give purpose back to their lives. I was immediately drawn to this, so I reached out to Elegantees' founder, Katie.

"Can we do something together? Can I help you help these women?"

I was overjoyed when the answer was, "yes!"

We started on the collection right away. I designed the pieces with the same philosophy behind Rey Swimwear- timeless, feminine silhouettes to flatter all body types. Katie curated the development and sewing, continuing to give hope to these women in Nepal. Together, we made a beautiful team. She has truly been such a joy to work with and I am so proud of this collection. It's easy and breezy- perfect for summer! I love how the pieces can be dressed down with sandals or sneakers and also dressed up with some heels. Everything can be mixed and matched or paired with your favorite tops and bottoms that you already own. I'll definitely be living in these clothes while the sun is shining this summer.
