Galentines Day

If you have ever seen the show Parks and Recreation, you’ve heard of Galentine’s Day.  Main character Leslie Nope gets together the women in her life to celebrate friendship.

It is not just a celebration for single women- just an excuse for good friends to get together. So the idea is that you get your best girlfriends together on February 13th  (or any other day). Leslie celebrates at a local diner with pancakes but you can invite friends over or go out to dinner.  The idea is to go somewhere not too loud so you can talk.  I highly recommend a place that serves mimosas, champagne, or wine.

So first pick a date you think will work for most of your friends. Invite a manageable amount of friends. If you invite thirty other ladies it looses some of its charm.  Send out invitations (or evites, texts or phone calls).

Take this time to value each of your friends by writing them each a letter telling them why they are awesome. You can keep it simple with cute little valentine cards from the store or go big with presents.

Get to the restaurant first and greet each guest as they arrive. Make sure you take time to speak to each of your friends or “honor” them out loud during the meal.

Make this day about what you have, not what you don’t have. Don’t make it a pity or gripe fest. It’s a celebration!

Don’t forget to give out goodie bags to each of your friends before they leave (be sure to include chocolate).

And as always, stay classy ladies!

XOXO,

Maryann

Forget the flowers. How about a love letter?

Valentine's Day can be an interesting time of year. Some people look forward to it, counting down the days as they plan and prepare. Others shudder with fear at the thought of February 14th as expectations rise.

For those with a significant other going out to a fancy restaurant is par for the course. Maybe even the same restaurant as last year. This Valentine’s day, Do something out of the ordinary-  make it a memorable night.

Be creative- Start scouring sites like Groupon.com and Zozi.com for inspiration. Why do what’s been done when you can look like a superstar by being creative?  Cook dinner, take a cooking class or grab take out and go to Color Me Mine.

Is her favorite movie Breakfast club? Make breakfast for dinner and spend some time watching her favorite flick. Does he love baseball? Make him his very own baseball card.

Visit a museum, botanical gardens, or comedy club. Have you ever been to a whisky tasting? Find something the two of you are both interested in ( or gentlemen, something that your lady will just love) and plan your Valentine's celebration around that instead of what you're "supposed" to do.

Go one step further, if you dare. Forget the flowers. Why don’t you surprise your honey with a beautiful love letter? Or something else that will last?

No matter what you do remember that the idea is to spend time with someone you love (or at least like). Be thoughtful, and it will be a great day!

XOXO,

Maryann

perfect fit and beautiful pattern

I love my Grace suits and this was the perfect addition and easy choice as the fit is the same. Such a flattering and comfortable fit and the pattern looks so cute with my black cover-up and sun hat. Love!

Love the fit!

I have a small bust compared to my hips, and a longer torso, so it’s pretty challenging to find a one-piece that doesn’t give me a huge wedgie. I got the size small in the Pear shaped swimsuit; my measurements are 34”-31”-38”, and a size small fits great. Thank you for making swimsuits for a range of bodies!!

Family vacation

I needed a swimsuit with more coverage for a family reunion trip and this swim dress fit the bill. I got so many compliments and the colors are just stunning. The pics don't do it justice.

Perfect sizing

I am a medium on top and a large on bottom and I appreciate that I can order two different sizes. It's a perfect fit.

Bestt birthday gift

My husband gave this to me for my birthday for a trip he booked for us and I am surprised at how well it fits. The fabric is buttery soft and I love the different ways to wear the straps. I'll send pics from hawaii!
