If the sunglass fits

The Rey swimwear team recently went on a hunt to find the perfect sunglasses to introduce to our beloved customers (that’s you!)

When looking for the perfect sunnies we only had two criteria. One, they must be ethically made, and two they must be cute! However, that was surprisingly easier said than done.

In our pursuit we learned that many brands (even the expensive ones) showed negligence towards the production of their products or were indifferent about how the sunglasses were made. We were caught in a dilemma because each time a pair of cute sunnies would catch our eyes we found ourselves asking important questions to the brands about the ethics behind their manufacturing, to which they would not or could not answer.

But, not all hope was lost! Toward the end of our pursuit we found Quay!

It was like love at first sight. Not only were the sunglasses super cute, they were ethically made!

Quay holds them selves to the highest standard of corporate social responsibility of integrity. They manufacture in boutique factories and ensure that all the working conditions comply with fundamental human rights. It was almost too good to be true, but sure enough Quay was willing to share photos and information about their factories and manufacturing process with us for reassurance.

Now Rey Swimwear welcomes six Quay sunglasses to the our online shop.

The six that the Rey Swimwear team has chosen emulate the iconic Audrey Hepburn style that Rey Swimwear is inspired by. The slight cat eyed ends give it that classy vintage look while the range of colors from pastel pink to classic black give it that classy look and feel. We can’t also forget to mention how some of them have mirror lenses, which make them fun and modern. We love these sunglasses because they are undeniably cute but we love them more because they are ethically manufactured.
