Galentines Day
If you have ever seen
the show Parks and Recreation, you’ve heard of Galentine’s Day. Main character
Leslie Nope gets together the women in her life to celebrate friendship.
It is not just a
celebration for single women- just an excuse for good friends to get together.
So the idea is that you get your best girlfriends together on February 13th (or any other day). Leslie celebrates at a
local diner with pancakes but you can invite friends over or go out to
dinner. The idea is to go somewhere not
too loud so you can talk. I highly
recommend a place that serves mimosas, champagne, or wine.
So first pick a date you
think will work for most of your friends. Invite a manageable amount of
friends. If you invite thirty other ladies it looses some of its charm. Send out invitations (or evites, texts or
phone calls).
Take this time to value
each of your friends by writing them each a letter telling them why they are
awesome. You can keep it simple with cute little valentine cards from the store
or go big with presents.
Get to the restaurant first and greet each guest as they
arrive. Make sure you take time to speak to each of your friends or “honor”
them out loud during the meal.
Make this day about what you have, not what you don’t have.
Don’t make it a pity or gripe fest. It’s a celebration!
Don’t forget to give out goodie bags to each of your friends
before they leave (be sure to include chocolate).
And as always, stay classy ladies!
XOXO,
Maryann
